Paper Birds

Paper Birds
by me(whatever)
to: Flow- Days

In the warming season,
I came to love this town.
the shatters and tatters of your paper birds,
flew off the balcony in the gust of wind
like the remnants of a dream
how can I connect to your words?

Any cold memories that were left,
are melting like ice cream in the sun
Although truly nothing has changed since those days...
in the golden horizon seen from astride your kite,
the clouds floated and flitted uneasily
addressing it's love to the phantom blaze.

The dream is far away
enough that I might fall.
within the grasp of the eastern jet stream,
I've gone lighter than the stratosphere
to see this Earth from the moon,
because things are not always what they seem.

Living the days one by one,
I was used to living here.
the childish balloon I held to the sky
shriveled up like the apple core you threw to the ground
even when I attached ten thousand to my arms
I realized I wasn't able to fly.

At the distance between,
I was stuck before the destination.
If the milky-way was out of my reach,
I never saw anything except a city of nebulae
filling up the shuttle screen;
an anticipatory breach.

You were looking beyond,
to a place I couldn't see.
Over the summer grass twilight held agleam,
I landed the reply to those letters
twisted in the shape of birds, because
I know you are not what you seem.

Stargazer

Stargazer
by me(whatever)
to starduster

Unable to depend on anyone,
and unable to feel loved,
I ran a million miles away
to the temperature in the milky way.

Always selfish, and always in pain,
enveloped in their screaming.
I stared at the gap between the evening lights,
silently wishing to disappear.

I don't exist at all,
drowning in this upside down ocean.
throwing myself away in the nebula,
I'm turning to ice.

hidden in the darkness,
floating weightless in the air.
I don't even know their names,
billions and billions and billions.

there's no one else,
the vapor seeps from my mouth.
show me something untarnished,
in this world like scrap paper.

somehow I left behind,
my beloved on the other side.
like this, my body is just sleeping,
waiting and waiting and waiting.

cold hands, cold cheeks, cold ears,
even my blood has turned blue.
Not a single thing is left,
except for the stars in the sky.

Gravity

Gravity
by me(whatever)
to Longing

This morning,
I awoke in an illusion.
Taking these steps,
quietly wrapped in confusion.

It was a tiny walk
across a gap in the sky.
"I suppose I should turn back now,"
I said within a sigh.

There's a world you've never seen,
and it all belongs to me.
concrete suspended 12,000 feet,
in the air like another sea.

"define gravity, please?"
from the balloon I named Campanula,
I've set out for you,
calling you names through the nebula.

in a city without people,
the windows glint as the gulls fly by.
winding through the spiral staircase,
I still can't find a reply.

The wind rustles in the blue grass,
invisible to the voices below.
let me disappear in this translucent color,
breathing in the afternoon glow.

Please come back,
I'm begging you like a child.
Watching the nimbus drift through,
I cried as it piled.

"Us" From Nebulae= Another Attempt

"Us" From Nebulae= Another Attempt
by me(whatever)
to this song: Campanella (Gumi)

Far away,
you pulled out your claws.
I confess,
Even I don't know how this is going to turn out.

Smoke piling,
on the nearby buildings; a ferocious battle.
Envy? Jealousy?
A melody plays over from an unseen window.

Piano interruption,
In an instant I felt "That's all,"
That's all.

You were only part of my gray skies,
followed over from the dreary every days;
but I found over the distance,
an unnatural anxiety stifling in ashes.

Factories start,
with their early morning bells.
Passive faces,
unborn from emotion, don't even meet my eyes.

I knew from the beginning, didn't I?
That it would end up this way.
So here you are,
with all the right tools
to shred me in pieces once again.

It wasn't enough,
for you to believe in.
A "new me" as slippery as a fish,
I couldn't gain traction on it.

As though a million years ago,
I remember the words I heard as my star burst;
into the thousand hues and colors.
One name: Nebula.
Yet so many particles of shining dust,
thrown away

Who are you? Who am I?
There isn't any answer to that anymore.
We were cast into space,
joined in one body as remnants of our previous self.
You were there; I was there.

You were only part of my gray skies;
followed over from the dreary every days.
the "you" with the claws,
is,
right now,
crying.

Over the monochromatic setting,
a white ball is rising to light the way.
The piano plunking below us
fills a nostalgic childhood memory.

Blinking,
Yet more lights scattered in the outer space
The "new me" as slippery as a fish;
It wasn't enough,
for me to believe in.

Piano interruption,
In an instant I felt "That's all,"
That's all.

That's all.

We are both only waiting,
in our colorful floating space dust,
for a day to return,
for 'us' to return...
