Ocean in Oregon
by me(whatever)
to: Coldplay- Hurts like Heaven
ocean in Oregon
responding to the world's spin,
responding to the moon
light grey clouds
light grey sand
reflecting each other,
an earth and sky love affair.
waves slide serene
attempting to meet me before I go
attempting to walk along the beach
with it's own two legs,
and with it's sweet, fresh, and cold breath
kiss the warm lungs
of a human, as nonexistent
as a single grain of sand.
old man and his daughter
arm in arm, strolling down the line
not knowing how far they've gone
not knowing how far they'll go
and over here,
a person standing alone
watching the white foam disappear
with the person they've loved so far away
waiting and waiting
wrapped comfortably in the water's soliloquy.
And the birds fly back and forth
together, low across the edge of the world
in rhythm with the waves
in rhythm with the gravity of the moon
in rhythm with the spinning of the Earth
and only a few of the dead
add to the reality of the canvas.
the boy picks up a drifting stick
etching a chaos of curving lines
against the ground, as though
trying to mark that he was there,
he was definitely there,
underneath the light grey sky
before the clear, white ocean
on the millions of grains of sand.

Paper Birds
Paper Birds
by me(whatever)
to: Flow- Days
In the warming season,
I came to love this town.
the shatters and tatters of your paper birds,
flew off the balcony in the gust of wind
like the remnants of a dream
how can I connect to your words?
Any cold memories that were left,
are melting like ice cream in the sun
Although truly nothing has changed since those days...
in the golden horizon seen from astride your kite,
the clouds floated and flitted uneasily
addressing it's love to the phantom blaze.
The dream is far away
enough that I might fall.
within the grasp of the eastern jet stream,
I've gone lighter than the stratosphere
to see this Earth from the moon,
because things are not always what they seem.
Living the days one by one,
I was used to living here.
the childish balloon I held to the sky
shriveled up like the apple core you threw to the ground
even when I attached ten thousand to my arms
I realized I wasn't able to fly.
At the distance between,
I was stuck before the destination.
If the milky-way was out of my reach,
I never saw anything except a city of nebulae
filling up the shuttle screen;
an anticipatory breach.
You were looking beyond,
to a place I couldn't see.
Over the summer grass twilight held agleam,
I landed the reply to those letters
twisted in the shape of birds, because
I know you are not what you seem.

Gravity
Gravity
by me(whatever)
to Longing
This morning,
I awoke in an illusion.
Taking these steps,
quietly wrapped in confusion.
It was a tiny walk
across a gap in the sky.
"I suppose I should turn back now,"
I said within a sigh.
There's a world you've never seen,
and it all belongs to me.
concrete suspended 12,000 feet,
in the air like another sea.
"define gravity, please?"
from the balloon I named Campanula,
I've set out for you,
calling you names through the nebula.
in a city without people,
the windows glint as the gulls fly by.
winding through the spiral staircase,
I still can't find a reply.
The wind rustles in the blue grass,
invisible to the voices below.
let me disappear in this translucent color,
breathing in the afternoon glow.
Please come back,
I'm begging you like a child.
Watching the nimbus drift through,
I cried as it piled.

Birdcage
by me(whatever)
to Fly Out
goldfish swimming in a bowl,
the hardwood desk she sits at.
Words I don't understand,
the window to the world.
Wings, beak, and talons,
chirping tomorrow's short songs
the hands who trespass,
the echoing daylight.
A slow life, a bored life,
I've always flitted the distance
from pole to pole
in the window to the world.
the staring goldfish,
the sliding closet she opens.
gestures I don't understand,
the blue of the sky.
feathers, voice, and heart,
barred 460 times per minute.
the eyes who trespass,
the echoing night.
From then to now,
I've always fought the distance
from pole to pole
in the blue of the sky.

Milk & Honey
Milk & Honey
by me(whatever)
to Fireworks
The shadows sink lower in the remnants of the day,
when the sparks light and flicker inconsistently.
I felt my daydreams spin together
in a warm glass of milk.
the dragonflies and the butterflies,
where do they go when I'm asleep?
With a smiling mouth, and a gentle tongue
you led yourself away.
the blossoms on the trees,
blooming even in the coldest of nights.
In a world such as that,
I'd like to walk underneath the sparse coverage.
Locked away in a bottle, and slowly drowning,
the reasons and emotions become tied.
Where do I go when I'm asleep?
I'm running barefoot among a thousand fireworks.
They didn't understand when I lied,
and holding mittens against my face,
I realized the birdcage was still shut.
Even when I stepped lightly against the stone steps,
heaven wouldn't open those letters I left.
the leaves scatter, and enveloping an abandoned desire,
They and I watch the autumn dusk.
Adding honey to the past words,
the clock that holds my name silently clicks.
as I gulp down the rest of the pain,
a nightingale sings from far away.
A song no one else can hear,
even when I told the truth,
they didn't understand.
The message will be delivered,
carried through the ocean until the time melts slowly.
a ship made of dreams and deceit,
will carry me on.
Until I can step on the concrete paths,
I'll be gathering all the noises from here to there.
Where do they go when I'm asleep?
the wheel breaks the butterfly.
Echoing in the space between here and there,
the tautology will smear the dragonfly wings incomprehensible.
Inside a ghost of what you will be,
disappearing quietly in a horizon of pure white.

Never saying another word.

Standing
Standing
by me(whatever)
to Of Monsters and Men- Dirty Paws
some days come short,
some come long.
without realizing where I stood at all,
I must've found where I belong.
the way is hard,
it hurts to care.
the mountains among your heart,
are wondering how you'll fare.
The oceans sing songs,
edging across the border.
To reach you is like knocking,
knocking from the corridor.
Some days I'm here,
some I've disappeared.
the birds have all gone,
returning when the storms are cleared.
If it was yesterday,
if it was today,
against the deep wood slope,
to be where your mind has strayed.
There's a whisper in the valleys,
where your voice has left a shadow.
When I wander beyond the hills,
I listen and swallow.
If it's today,
If it's tomorrow,
it calls and calls and calls,
answering for your sorrow.
the snow sings songs,
over the peaks above.
The clouds cover the world below,
where everything's dead but love.
Some days come short,
some come long.

to Brain Crain- Dream of Flying
What should I do?
The world has left me,
turning in solitary orbit,
a door without the key.
The birds have all fled,
from the trouble born ahead,
the rain is sloshing down,
falling on our paper town.
It's too soon to go",
the fishes grumbled in their sleep,
a disillusioned, occupied daydream
swimming dead in the deep.
the rings spin me in circles,
making me dizzy from your pearls
dug from beneath the sand
sweeping away a single strand.
to create something from nothing,
to start anew.
Someone said this a long time ago,
dripped in leaving blue.
Is that all you have to say?"
the beasts staringly accuse
surely there is a destination,
willing to suffer my abuse.
the birds have all fled,
from the trouble brewed ahead.
Hold my hand my dear,
here against the rain of fear,
my most precious, paper, puppeteer.

Rainy Morning
Rainy Morning (11-21-13)
A small bird
calling desperately for it's mother
ran over in the rainy morning.
If I could see a seagull,
or a sea-cat,
today would be fine,
I'm sure.
On rainy mornings
I can't sleep,
pacing around
like a caged animal.
My last bit of freedom,
to walk a little farther in the cold
taken away by kindness.

Birds and Electricity
My goodness, it's 1 in the morning, and I finally finished this short story for school. There wasn't much criteria, and I'm exhausted, thank you very much.
Birds and Electricity
Robin Wetherill lived in Sky world on Aether Island in
Silver City. And she was all alone.
You might think this is a grim way to introduce our
heroine, but it must be admitted, she was
alone. At least at the moment she is. Please look down from a high cloud
and take a bird’s eye view of a small crowded island below. Do you see it? It’s
the one in the middle, just floating there. To you it might resemble a bit like
New York City placed in a Science Fiction novel. It has floating cars, skyscrapers
poking out at impossible angles, and sidewalks hanging in the air.
Now, look a little closer to the right corner of your
spyglass. See that large, dirty apartment building there? Good. Now, if you
have a perceptional eye vision, you might notice that pin-prick of a girl standing
at the base of the building. She has brunette hair, and is currently staring at
the wall in front of her. She doesn’t have time for us right now, but we are
going to watch her anyways. Why is she staring at a wall? Well, why don’t we
ask her?
Robin Wetherill lived in Sky world on Aether Island in
Silver City. And she was all alone. She was an orphan, enrolled in Pammi’s
House for Girls. She has just lost her best friend, because she has moved away.
If you look close enough, you can probably see her crying. The alleyway she is
currently in is devoid of people. So you see, she really is alone, except for that incredibly annoying crow staring at her
from that cable. It’s been bugging Robbin for a while. You see, because Robbin
has always had this way of knowing when someone or something is looking at her.
It has turned her somewhat paranoid, as you or I would be if you could tell
every time someone was looking your direction. And this crow has been staring
at her for such an awfully long time.
It has been driving her mad.
But let’s look away from the stalker crow for a second,
and take a minute on the wall. Yes, the wall. It is somewhat interesting also,
for on its surface is a collection of strange graffiti. It has some very
decorative and hidden arrows pointing to the right. But, shh, Robbin just
noticed them, probably because we were talking too loud. Oh look, now she’s
become curious and has started following them.
Let’s see, she’s turned right, and left, oh, and now
right again. Hmm, left, left, left, right, left, right, right, goodness these
alleyways stretch on a while. But that is one thing about Silver City. Never
underestimate her alleyways. They are worse than a labyrinth. Robbin knows this
to, so she usually stays away from them, but she’s come to the conclusion that
if she wants to head back all she has to do is follow the arrows backwards. But
exactly what are they leading her to? It has been an hour since she started,
and wiping some sweat from her brow, she notices that the crow is still
following her. Yes, this crow is definitely a stalker, and Robbin becomes a
little concerned. But what can she do? She keeps on.
Oh my, it’s been a few hours, and it’s starting to get
dark. But for Robbin it’s too late to turn back. What are you going to do
Robbin, you forgot to bring a flashlight. Silver City is generally
well-lighted, but it would be troublesome if she wouldn’t be able to spot the
hidden arrows anymore. Moreover, that crow is still following her. She wonders what it’s up about, when it
suddenly swoops down to her and with a surprise turns on the yellow beams in its
eyes. It’s not a crow at all, it’s a robot! Well, a robot crow. Does that
count?
Robbin and the robot crow continue turning the corners
at the end of the alleyways, the crow lighting the way. Robbin is just starting
to get tired when she notices something funny going on with the urban lighting
of Silver City outside. It’s flickering on and off, like it’s about to go out. This
had been going on for a while lately, and the officials of Silver City had been
spending hours, and money trying to figure out what the problem was. But they
still hadn’t managed to discover what or who
was behind it.
Robbin and Choco (she took the liberty of naming it)
turn another corner and have suddenly found themselves in a den of androids.
Robbin can tell right off these aren’t the usual androids. First of all,
androids don’t gather together in a way that looks like a teenage gang, and
second of all, they don’t look this scary. Each of them has something off them
missing. Their hair is missing in chunks, and springs are popping out of their
necks. Overall, they look much like a broken doll toy. They’re all looking at
her with violent intent. Robbin, you better be careful.
But the arrows end here. She quickly looks for more, but
this is where they lead. There’s no way she’s backing out of this just because
she’s scared. So she takes a few heavy steps into the area and looks around for
a clue why there might be arrows leading here. And she sees it. The area is
behind one of the many power plants, and she can see that these androids have
tampered with the Generator box. But just as she’s noticed this, the abandoned
androids take action. The first one springs his remaining arm towards her, but
she ducks and starts to run. A child android starts chasing her from behind,
and the others lumber from behind. Unfortunately there’s a rock in the middle
of where Robbin is going to step, and she falls hard and painfully. The child
android catches up with her and jumps onto her back to prevent her escape.
Robbin is panicking when Choco starts clawing and shining his beaming eyes into
the child androids eyes. This makes an effect on it (you never want to look
straight into a robots eyes), and it falls back in pain. Robbin gets up and
runs as straight as she can towards the Generator box, while Choco is
distracting the others. I can see they both feel quite bold today.
Robbin reaches the Generator box and rings the emergency
bell placed next to it. This signals the officials to come in five minutes. She
then takes a look at the box itself, and growing up in Silver City, she knows
exactly what to do. It’s quite easy really, since they only broke wires. She
pulls out some gloves from her pockets and begins twisting them back together.
Red to red, blue to green, green to blue, oh when will they ever end? She’s on
the last one, when an android shoves her to the ground from behind. Well, Choco
couldn’t keep them off forever, could he? And she’s fighting for her life, when
the light of the officials Flies (flying machines) reaches her from above.
Quite simply, it’s wrapped up in two minutes. The officials
are scarily efficient at their job. The androids are bonded and thrown in the
back for proper disposal, and the Generator box is overlooked by a professional
Mr. Bill who says that Robbin did a good temporary fix, but that they’ll need
to replace them anyways. Robbin wonders what all her trouble was for. She’s
given a ride home on one of their Flies, and when poor Miss Pammi sees her
walked in by officials she nearly has a heart attack.
Robin has a sheepish look on her face. Can you see it
from your bird’s eye view? She should’ve remembered about Miss Pammi, who has
told her time and time again to be back by dark. She expects to get scolded,
but after the officials leave on a tip of their hats, all she does is set down
some hot Cocoa before her on the counter. All the other kids have gone to bed.
“Here that should warm you up.”
Choco is settled
neatly in Robbins lap as she sips the golden liquid slowly down her throat.
“Miss Pammi?”
“Yes?”
“Will Silver City not Flicker anymore?”
Miss Pammi looks at her and leans against the opposite
counter.
“Yes, it will. The short-circuit you found was only one
of who knows how many are out there.”
Robbin looks sad for a moment.
Then Miss Pammi adds “but I bet if the officials had you
on their force, they would get them all before daybreak!”
They both smile, and Robbin tells her everything that
happened again for the third time. She falls asleep on her chair a few minutes
later, and Miss Pammi carries her into bed.
Well? Not so tragic
after all. Not as alone as she thinks. She’ll survive.

There's a bird in this town
by me(whatever)
to : Kyoko- Happy Birthday
I can't talk right, sorry for that.
I keep getting cut off
by my intrusive personality.
There's a bird in this town,
hovering over in the blue sky.
Because I can't touch it,
it feels like an illusion.
learning by ear,
plonking an old melody on the piano.
With one hand, wishing I could play.
Dreams I suddenly remember,
Green and green all around.
a little trouble, an easy solution
like switching on the light in a dark room.
What should I do tomorrow?
There's a bird in this town.
It likes to chirp in the morning.
I can't be kind sometimes, sorry for that
Like some of my wires got twisted
Cutting into a little trouble,
trying to laugh it all off.
one by one,
in this broken world.
I wonder where I should place my next step
so I won't fall through.
Somewhere from the next word,
I stop listening to your speakers.
There's a bird in this town,
It likes to go to bed at night.
I can almost remember,
the frustration of time pulling on you.
They fought and fought and fought,
and I remain.
The aura here is touched by boredom,
A smell like lilac, if you could smell it.
There's a bird in this town.
It eats insects to survive.
While I live forever,
dwelling with torn memories.
There's a bird in this town
living for today's simple things
it can die.

Steel Stairs
Steel Stairs
by me(whatever)
to this song: Now or Never
I flop up these steel stairs.
Each step leading to heaven.
Never found.
I stare at the barbed holes
through to the ground far away.
"You may lean on me"
when did I remember such a thing?
Why?
There is silence all around me,
I climb and climb
holding desperately onto the rail.
A voice ahead of me,
I rush to separate a past from the future.
I can only think of this existence.
Between the lines
Eyes all around,
I feel them bearing me down.
Starting to run,
I realize the panting of breaths
are counting down.
Invisible hand
pulls me up this unending staircase.
I can't live alone,
like this.
Take me with you.
The snow falls,
the autumn winds,
spring rains
our summer.
Pushing the replay on my life,
I'm reliving every single moment
in each of these steps I climb.
I searched for a light to the future,
when I finally found you
through sweat, blood, tears,
you slipped away.
I halt on the steel,
staring at the sky backwards to the aether.
I will find you once again.
all the wounds littering this worthless body
I've lost everything
From the top of the building
I stare out to heaven.
Our heaven.
"Don't give up yet,"
I lean out.
My heart is fluttering
like a swallow in its cage
I will open the door,
let it fly
to heaven to meet once again
you and your beautiful voice.
"Stop."
"Don't run"
"Keep on"
A breeze flows out from the cracks in the landscape
I breathe in.
My eyes closed.
Ears open.
This is my life.
Sliding down the banister.
Replaying each of those steps.
I came this far
Only to fall
Where are you?
I don't know where to find you.
Just a smile,
just a glance
just a touch
just a sound
Give me a hint,
where have you hidden?
in this hide-and-seek game
we've been playing
all our lives.
One more step,
and over the ledge.
Running to you
falling to heaven.
I won't die yet,
even if the skin covering me
shrivels up and permeates.
Leave it all behind.
Sliding down the banister.
down,
down,
down,
away from the steel steps.
Here,
we begin again.
This was the truth,
in your teary eyes
that day.
There will always be a way.
Again,
Again.
No matter how many times we're lost.
We'll keep living.
no matter how many times we're destroyed.
down,
down
down.
Sliding down the banister.
Two swallows in the sky.
by me(whatever)
to this song: Now or Never
I flop up these steel stairs.
Each step leading to heaven.
Never found.
I stare at the barbed holes
through to the ground far away.
"You may lean on me"
when did I remember such a thing?
Why?
There is silence all around me,
I climb and climb
holding desperately onto the rail.
A voice ahead of me,
I rush to separate a past from the future.
I can only think of this existence.
Between the lines
Eyes all around,
I feel them bearing me down.
Starting to run,
I realize the panting of breaths
are counting down.
Invisible hand
pulls me up this unending staircase.
I can't live alone,
like this.
Take me with you.
The snow falls,
the autumn winds,
spring rains
our summer.
Pushing the replay on my life,
I'm reliving every single moment
in each of these steps I climb.
I searched for a light to the future,
when I finally found you
through sweat, blood, tears,
you slipped away.
I halt on the steel,
staring at the sky backwards to the aether.
I will find you once again.
all the wounds littering this worthless body
I've lost everything
From the top of the building
I stare out to heaven.
Our heaven.
"Don't give up yet,"
I lean out.
My heart is fluttering
like a swallow in its cage
I will open the door,
let it fly
to heaven to meet once again
you and your beautiful voice.
"Stop."
"Don't run"
"Keep on"
A breeze flows out from the cracks in the landscape
I breathe in.
My eyes closed.
Ears open.
This is my life.
Sliding down the banister.
Replaying each of those steps.
I came this far
Only to fall
Where are you?
I don't know where to find you.
Just a smile,
just a glance
just a touch
just a sound

The Wind of Catharsis
The Wind of Catharsis
by me(whatever)
to this song: Kobato Ost- Kaze no Catharsis
Again in this town,
I yearn to be happy.
Although I once gave up on it;
"Impossible!" I screamed.
I find myself now skipping to a rhythm,
heard by me, and only me.
I enjoy mysteries,
witches, cats, and birds.
But although I used to own the world,
It wasn't fun,
to be a tyrant in empty corners.
I'm still alone now,
but I can move on.
I can feel it across the distance,
a heartbeat accelerated;
excited to change the future.
"To Change the World",
might be a little bit too big?
But if I keep putting one foot in front of the other,
I will definitely be able
to change mine.
If things become complicated,
I simply need to remember the origin.
Because even hard and complicated things,
are made of easy and simple ones.
A homemade catharsis;
made of sugar pie and roses.
It took so many years to become
the person I am now.
In the wrappers of chance,
I've thrown away so many just by simple fear.
But today,
If I cast a little spell
here and there,
my determination will begin to grow.
Don't give up,
you lonely girl,
you lonely boy.
Behind the mask of grief,
is a sunny day,
just waiting for you.
Today, Tomorrow, the past,
In the end, what does it all matter?
The only time I really need,
is the time to appreciate why I was born.
Why was I born?
I still haven't found the answer to that.
You can tug your whole life,
and still not understand.
But I have already begun searching.
Even if the world is bound in chains,
Even if the bells begin to ring,
I would like to keep stepping towards the future,
a future that only belongs to me.
The heavy clouds in the sky,
and the headaches as cumbersome as my teachers lectures,
were all blown away by this wind;
The wind of Catharsis.
No matter how slow the advance,
if you are moving forward, its fine.
If there are no hero's around to save you,
Become one yourself!
I have my head up singing with the clouds,
my brain down drinking up the sea.
I know hard situations will come;
I expect them.
They can push me forwards,
So perhaps once I'm done walking,
I can start to run.
You can go wherever you want to go.
The soul is as free as a bird.
I will ride the wind of this Catharsis,
higher and higher into the sweet smell of sky,
and even if I fall
I will fly again.

Princess of the Next Life Soon After
Princess of the next Life soon After
by Me(whatever)
Birdy the Mighty: Decode(Ost) Main theme- Side Birdy-
Melancholic Jazz plays as my theme
This is the Revolution of a Girl!
Shatter salt into the Night sky
Move with the power of Love
to the next Life soon after
Become your own Hero,
The Princess was never Saved!
She is the Knight herself
Covered in teary scars and blood
to the next Life soon after
Running like the billowy wind,
The Darkness will hide me!
She screams and holds out in Kindness
The Dragon was defeated
to the next Life soon after
You are the only person in the world
This is my Sky Call!
Powerful beyond Belief
The Feelings were covered
to the next Life soon after
Shallow Tea-cup Sea
Her Beacon of Flight!
Never was such a Glittery Story
Turned into a Heart of Gold
to the next Life soon after?

Love is a Bird
Love is a bird.
It flaps and soars in its feathers,
reaching far above our heads
outstretching boundaries
yet it shies away
if you try to touch it
And
Love is an eagle,
catching prey with it's claws,
Ruthless and majestic, a national symbol
Even higher in the air drafts,
fanatic photographers click as rapidly as they can
for the rare specimen
Love is a sparrow,
Small and unconcerning
littering the ground
Love is a vulture,
Devouring what is left across
on the road of death
a Survivor beneath a boiling sun
circling above in desperation
Love is a Mockingbird,
Singing to the full moon, early horizon
the mimicry
But if it doesn't sing,
remember the interchangeable diamond ring"
Love is a Cactus Wren,
Curiosity of the unknown,
and the same home
Love is a Blue Jay,
Bold and inventive
the sound of the alarm
Love is a Woodpecker,
Constantly barging into your head
for a nest
Love is a Hummingbird,
Hovering for nectar
Love is an Owl,
Turning your head 180 degrees,
below the moon, silent wings
will capture you unprepared
Love is a parrot,
Repeating to you,
what you already know
Love is a Seagull,
Preying on the
everyday swimmers
Love is a pelican,
Holding in its mouth
Words you do and do not want to hear
Love is a Flamingo,
femininely pink,
Plastics standing on one leg
in the fresh-cut grass
Love is a penguin,
Surviving in the Freezing
Flying beneath the Sea
Love is a Goose,
trumpeting loudly
Love is a Duck,
Floating listlessly
Love is a Chicken,
Shivering for safety
to lay some eggs
Love is a Peacock,
attracting attention
with it's shimmering colors
Love is a Quail,
always in the family
with its bobbing head,
on the outlook
Love is an Ostrich,
Large in size,
yet can be indespensibly
cruel and small-minded
Love is a Kiwi,
plumage already full
when out of the shell
Love is a Starling,
pushing others out of
their comfortable homes
Love is a Crow,
Searching through the after-math
Love is a Raven,
an omen of death
Love is a Bird-of-Paradise,
confessing an elaborate display
Desperate behind the mask
Love is a Dove,
a green fern in its beak
reigning peace
throughout for land
Love is a Swan,
necks in elegant arches
white amongst blue
bowing their heads
before the clouds
For
Love is a Bird.
Whoever able to catch it,
lying bait all over the mauve soil,
will put them in a cage,
either sold or kept,
Will it be the same?
